In 2016, Asghar, a passionate young cyclist from Kabul, set the seed for what would become Afghanistan’s first freestyle cycling club.
Drop and Ride stands for „Drop the gun and ride a bike“ and symbolizes the effort to resist the spiral of violence in Afghanistan. Instead, a growing number of club members, boys and girls alike, use the bike as their tool for peaceful change.
Drop and Ride wants to create a safe environment for Kabul’s youth to enable sports, social exchange and education. The program includes weekly sport training and regular competitions, as well as computer and language courses.
